My Inspiration of the Day

This sugar cookie is designed as a Traditional Yakama Woman ('Ayat). Wearing her Putal'aap'a (feast hat), carrying a wa'paas (root basket), and is carrying a kupin (root digger). Her wing dress is red in honor of the #MMIW. I was Inspired to make this cookie in honor of all the Indigenous women who are still carrying on, teaching, and leading the ways into The Seventh Generation. The elders will tell us this isn't the old way...its the way. The Future is Indigenous!
